Professor Amjad Parvaiz is a specialist in colorectal surgery, with extensive training in general, colorectal, and especially laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He heads the MIS unit in Pula.

He specialized in South Africa between 1994 and 1998, before coming to England in 1999. Working with Robin Kennedy at Yeovil sparked his interest in laparoscopic surgery. He continued his training in Basingstoke, as a resident in general surgery. In Wessex he completed a subspecialty in this type of surgery. In 2005 Professor Amjad Parvaiz completed the National Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Course in Colchester under the auspices of Professor Roger Motson.

Colorectal cancer and benign diseases are of particular interest to Professor Parvaiz. At a highly professional level, he performs the most complex operations in the field of robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Professor Parvaiz has presented his results at many international meetings, and his works have been published many times in respected journals.

Professor Parvaiz is one of the leading English instructors for specialists interested in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, as part of the English Ministry of Health’s Lapco project.

In addition to his brilliant academic and surgical career, Professor Amdžad proved to be a great friend of Serbian surgery, as he provided his selfless support in starting the colorectal laparoscopic surgery program in Pancevo, primarily as an instructor and lecturer at earlier Workshops.

Professor Amjad is married and has three children.
